Introduction for naming and measuring angles:
The naming for angle is given by the two lines starts from the single point. The two lines are formed between common points called as the vertex. The two line segments formed from the same point. The angles can be measured by using the protractor in construction parts and in problems by solving from other angles. Now we see about naming and measuring angles.
About Naming and Measuring Angles:
The naming of the angles can be given and explained as follows,
Acute angle:
If measuring of the angle is less than 90 called as an acute angle. Example: 48, 67 are some example for acute angles.
Obtuse angle:
If the angle measurement is greater than the 90 and within 180 are called as the obtuse angle. Example: 134, 146 are some examples for obtuse angles.
Straight angle:
An angle whose measure is exactly180, then it is called a Straight angle
Reflex angle:
If angle measuring is more than 180 but less than 360, then it is called a reflex angle.
Complementary angle:
When the two angles add up to 90 called as the complementary angle.
Example: 44, 46 are complementary angles.
Supplementary angle:
When the two angles add up to 180, then they are called Supplementary angles.
120, 60 are Supplementary angles. Having problem with Two Parallel Planes keep reading my upcoming posts, i will try to help you.
Problems for Measuring and Naming the Angles:
Example 1:
Determine the angle of an acute angle triangle where the angles measuring are given as 67 and 71 degrees.
Solution:
The acute angle measuring are given and the unknown angle can be determined as follows,
67 + 71 + x = 180
138 + x = 180
x = 180 - 138
x = 42
The acute angle is determined as 42 degrees.
Example 2:
Find the two supplementary angles are given in the ratio 4:8
Solution:
Let the two angles be 4x and 8x
The angles are supplementary to each other, 4x + 8x =180
12x =180, divide by 12 on both the sides,
x = 15
The supplementary angles are 60° and 120°
